Place of Birth: Methow Valley, WA USA

Growing up in the Methow Valley in Washington State, Sam Naney quickly rose in the junior ranks with several podium finishes at Junior National Championships. After attending Dartmouth College and racing four years on the varsity squad there, Sam launched his elite-level career first in Bozeman then returned to the Methow to work with coach Scott Johnston. After six years and a steady ascent in the national ranks, Sam retired from full-time racing in the spring of 2014 after ranking 9th in Olympic sprint qualifications for the Sochi games, just five spots off the team. Following his retirement and with the birth of his first child Fiona, Sam, his wife Alison and their newborn moved to Seattle as he now has taken on the Directorship and Head Coach position of a new junior racing program in the region, Momentum Northwest.
