Emil Hegle Svendsen or “Super Svendsen” began his World Cup career in the 2005/06 season after a successful run as a junior on the European Cup winning 4 gold medals. Already an accomplished and decorated World Cup skier with multiple victories on the circuit, Svendsen earned one silver and two gold medals at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. Acclaimed for his dead-eye accuracy with a rifle, Svendsen is often compared to another Madshus biathalon legend, Ole Einar Bjørndalen. And with Svendsen’s brilliant performance since appearing on the scene, “Super Svendsen” would appear to be another legend in the making.
